Veteran point guard Pablo Prigioni, still nursing a hip injury, said he hopes not to get traded at the Feb. 19 deadline, but remained vague on whether he wants to be back with the Knicks next season. Prigioni's playing time has been reduced drastically since the signing of Langston Galloway.
The 37-year-old Prigioni, who rarely makes himself available for interviews, spoke for the first time since The Post reported the Knicks think the Argentine has some trade value. The Knicks are short on second-round picks and believe there's a market for a heady, veteran backup.
Prigioni has one year left on his pact, but only $300,000 of his $1.7 million is guaranteed.
"No, no, no,'' Prigioni, who missed his second straight game with a hip injury on Friday, said when asked if he was intrigued about playing in a new American city. "I'm just focused here.
"No reason to think about it, it's directly out of our hands. I focus on the next practice, supporting the guys, keep moving on. Just focusing on the team and give my best. In the summer we will see. Now just focusing on our team."
The Pistons and Cavaliers have been in the market for point-guard depth.
"It's not in my hands,'' Prigioni said. "I just go to work every day. Now I'm recovering from this little injury. I play if the team needs me and if the coach needs me. The other part we can't control if they do something. I'll stay healthy and stay ready to play wherever they send me or whatever happens.''
Prigioni said his lack of playing time "is normal'' considering where the Knicks are in the standings.
"It's normal to try players,'' Prigioni said. "They know me and exactly what I can do.''
With rumors swirling the Knicks would shut him down unless they struck a deal, Prigoni tweeted in Spanish he did hurt his hip. Nevertheless, in the Google translator, it mistakenly stated Prigioni tweeting he had a stroke.
"It was wrong, Thank god,'' Prigoni said.''
Cole Aldrich (shin) returned from a three-game absence for Friday's 92-88 loss to the Nets and played 9:16, going scoreless.
Galloway secured a season-high 11 rebounds to go with nine points, four assists and a final-minute steal. His 11 boards were by far the Knicks' most, with Carmelo Anthony next with seven. … The Knicks shot just 38.2 percent.
