ARLINGTON, Texas — Urban Meyer doesn't plan on leaving Ohio State anytime soon — not even if the NFL comes calling.
"Not right now," he said Tuesday morning when asked about his interest in coaching at the next level hours after coaching the Buckeyes to their first championship since 2002 with a 42-20 victory over Oregon at AT&T Stadium. "I've got a commitment to Ohio State and these players. I love what I'm doing. Not right now."
He didn't rule out the NFL in the future, but with a loaded group of underclassmen set to return, including dynamic running back Ezekiel Elliott, dominant defensive end Joey Bosa and potentially all three quarterbacks, Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones, Ohio State likely will begin next season ranked No. 1.
"I think we'll be very good," said Meyer, who has compiled a 38-3 record in three seasons at Ohio State. He joined Nick Saban as the only coaches to win national titles at two different schools, having won it all twice with Florida, in 2006 and 2008.
