People are not rushing to buy tickets for the 9/11 museum, which has sold out only for the first day it is open to the public next Wednesday.

Plenty of tickets were still available for all time slots after 12:30 p.m. the following Thursday and beyond, according to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum's Web site.

Even Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends are wide open. Visitors to the museum have to pick a time and must arrive within 15 minutes or be denied admission.

Ticketed guests are urged to arrive 30 minutes early, so they have enough time to go through security screening.

Once inside, guests can stay as long as they like until the museum's 8 p.m. closing time. The average visit is expected to last two hours, museum officials said.

Tickets are $24 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and older, $18 for veterans and college students and $15 for children ages 7 to 17. Children 6 and under are free.

Museum members, 9/11 first responders and family members are also allowed in free.
