A suspect is in custody in the fatal beating of a father and husband in Queens, authorities said Saturday.
Kaheem Addison, 29, surrendered Saturday at the 108th Precinct stationhouse in Long Island City, mere feet from the street corner where he allegedly left Jose Antonio Cocuyo-Malaga for dead early Friday morning.
Cocuyo-Malaga, 32, and a co-worker from Bareburger went looking for a livery cab on Vernon Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. after grabbing a snack, police sources said.
Addison pulled up in a gray Chevy Caprice Classic, and Cocuyo-Malaga, believing it was a cab, tried to get in, sources said.
According to police sources, the incensed driver jumped out of the car and rushed Cocuyo-Malaga, knocking him to the ground as they tussled at the corner of 50th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard — right down the block from the precinct.
Cocuyo-Malaga's head slammed into the sidewalk, leaving him out cold as Addison fled, sources said.
First responders rushed Cocuyo-Malaga to Bellevue Hospital, but he could not be saved.
He leaves behind a wife and a 7-year-old daughter, neighbors told the Post on Friday.
Addison, of Huntington Station, Long Island, was charged with manslaughter.
Police sources initially said that two men were being sought, but authorities said Saturday that Addison was the sole suspect.
