A man was found shot to death in a luxury vehicle in Morrisania, cops said. The unidentified victim was in the driver's seat of a black BMW at the corner of Washington Avenue and East 165th Street Monday at about 4:15 p.m., police said. He originally was in a red Ford that was parked about half a block away, when a man walked up to the passenger side window and forced the door closed before firing at least two shots, police sources said. The wounded man got out of the Ford and into the BMW, but he only made it half a block before succumbing to a fatal gunshot to the face. It wasn't immediately clear if he was armed, but police sources believe a man who later entered a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest could be linked to the shooting. No arrest had been made.
A man was shot dead in his Mount Eden apartment building in an apparent gang beef, police sources said. The shooter gunned down Wille Lora, 21, in the lobby of the building on Macombs Road near West Mount Eden Avenue on Monday at about 4:30 p.m., cops said. Lora, who was struck once in the chest, was pronounced dead on arrival at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Police sources said the slaying appears to be gang-related, and that Lora had survived a previous shooting. Investigators could not immediately provide a description of the gunman, who fled the scene with a female acquaintance.
Manhattan
A thief made off with an entire shelf of primping tools and products from a pharmacy in the Financial District, sources said. The robber shoved curling irons, hair dryers, straightening products and curly hair products into two large shopping bags and fled the Duane Reade on Broadway and Pine Street last Saturday at about 11 a.m., sources added. A worker tried to stop him, but the thief got away. No arrests have been made and no suspect description was available.
A shoplifter snatched two vests worth nearly $3,000 from the Ralph Lauren store in Soho, sources said. The thief grabbed the items from a display rack and walked out of the shop on Prince Street last Thursday at 11:15 a.m., sources said.
Brooklyn
A man was shot in the leg during a heated dispute, authorities said. The 26-year-old victim was arguing with another man in the Brownsville Houses on Dumont Avenue near Mother Gaston Boulevard at 5:25 p.m. Monday, when his foe whipped out a gun and shot the victim, cops said. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition. Police did not immediately identify a suspect and they did not know what caused the argument.
Two crooks robbed a man at gunpoint on a Mill Basin street, police said. The 45-year-old victim was walking along Avenue T near East 55th Street Monday at 5:50 p.m., when the goons grabbed him from behind and snarled, "Give it up." The victim tried to break free, but one of the thugs pulled a black gun on him, authorities said. The muggers fled with the victim's North Face backpack, which contained a Kindle e-reader and assorted tools, cops said.
Queens
A 67-year-old man allegedly beat and robbed his landlord inside his own Ridgewood building, law-enforcement sources said. Arthur Lohman and two other men allegedly rang the bell of the 61-year-old landlord's unit on Gates Avenue near Fairview Avenue at 11:45 a.m. Monday, sources said. When the victim answered, they allegedly forced their way inside, hit the landlord over the head with a bottle, punched him and bound his legs with rope, a police source said. The trio demanded money, but the victim managed to lock himself in his bedroom, where he called 911, cops said. Lohman was arrested at the scene and charged with robbery and burglary, but his alleged accomplices got away, sources said. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition.
