Movie producer wants engagement ring back from ex-fiancée

He put a ring on it, but now he wants it back.

Cult monster-movie producer Sandy Frank is suing his former fiancée after she refused to return a $305,000 diamond engagement ring when their relationship went sour, according to a lawsuit.

The moviemaker, 84, who produced several cheesy "Gamera" films, claims he gave Palm Beach socialite Patricia Berg the 7.23-carat, cushion-cut rock in 2009 with other pricey gifts.

Frank says Berg, 60, didn't return any of the gifts, but he wants only the bling back.

"I think it's tacky for her not to return the engagement ring," Frank's lawyer, Suzanne Bracker, said. "When you give someone a conditional gift and the marriage does not go through, you return the ring."

Frank, who filed the suit in Manhattan federal court Monday, last made headlines in 2010 for a nasty divorce battle with his second wife, former model Brenda Frank.
