It appears there may be some sour grapes over the relaunch of Newsweek's print edition.
Former editor Tina Brown was asked by Bloomberg Television host Tom Keene on Friday about the new edition cover story by Leah McGrath Goodman on alleged bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto.
Keene asked what if they got it wrong and this is not the bitcoin founder?
"That would be rough. All I can think of is I'm so glad I'm not the editor," the former Talk magazine editor said.
Brown then went on to say she was supportive of the effort to relaunch the magazine she led when it was shuttered. But she finished up with this tidbit: "Newsweek's whole DNA was about driving the weekly headlines, and that is just extraordinarily hard to pull off because the headlines are old by the time they come out."
After the Brown segment, Goodman appeared with smoke coming out of her ears.
"I find [her] comments not to be very friendly to Newsweek. I have a problem with the way she spoke about it. There's a back story to that, and she knows there is one," referring to the fact that Brown was the former editor.
