The best and worst moments from the Grammys

The 57th Grammy Awards offered up big wins for Sam Smith and (somewhat surprisingly) Beck, but the telecast itself was a mixed bag. Ballads dominated and there was little in the way of off-script incident, but scraps of entertainment still found their way on to the nation's screens.

Here are the best and worst moments of the 2015 Grammys:

Best

Madonna

There wasn't much competition in fairness, but the familiar Madge-magic was sprinkled over the Los Angeles Staples Center as she performed "Living For Love" with a cast of horny looking men (and for once, not horny in the icky sense).

Prince

In the building simply to present the Album of the Year award, Prince was dressed in orange, sporting an impeccable afro, and holding a glittery cane. Somebody give him the award for sexy. Oh no, wait. It's OK. He's already got all of them.

Kanye West

As a completely flabbergasted Beck walked on to the podium to collect his shock Album of the Year award, Kanye jumped up on stage and motioned to steal the Grammy back (echoing his infamous "I'mma let you finish" rant at Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Awards), before aborting and heading back to his seat. Even when he's not doing things properly, Kanye still steals the show.

Miranda Lambert

The country Queen ripped through a fiery "Little Red Wagon" and by not cutting out the curse words in the songs lyrics, she was the only act of the night who fell foul of the censors. Who would have thought Miranda Lambert would end up as the rabble-rouser of the 2015 Grammy Awards.

Worst

Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani

"The Voice" duo howled their way through Maroon 5's dreary balled "My Heart is Open" in a way that cast more than a little doubt over their right to judge the singing of other people.

E.L.O.

The Beatles of the '70s, is what ELO were often known as. That explains why only Paul McCartney seemed to be the only member of the crowd who seemed genuinely thrilled to see them.

Imagine Dragons

Their performance/commercial for Target was beamed in from Las Vegas but even with an over-hyped crowd playing up to the cameras, "Shots" sounded like almost comically generic rock.

Jessie J and Tom Jones

The duo's version of the Righteous Brothers' untouchable "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" could have been a total real train wreck. Thankfully, it wasn't, but it was still pretty bad.
