Thirty years after his legendary St. John's career, Chris Mullin will join the Queens school's other greats in its Hall of Fame.
The St. John's legend will be one of seven honorees inducted into the Red Storm Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon, along with pitcher C.J. Nitkowski, golfer Andrew Svoboda, and women's basketball player Kia Wright, among others. They will be honored at halftime of St. John's game against Seton Hall at Carnesecca Arena.
Mullin, out of Brooklyn's Xaverian High School, led St. John's to its last Final Four berth in 1984-85. The three-time Big East Player of the Year, three-time Haggerty Award Winner and John R. Wooden Award recipient was taken seventh overall by the Warriors in the 1985 NBA Draft and went on to enjoy a productive 16-year NBA career, named to five All-Star teams and averaged 18.2 points per game. He is St. John's all-time scoring leader with 2,440 career points.
The 51-year-old Mullin, an adviser with the Kings, would have received the induction earlier if not for scheduling conflicts.
