A drunken vagrant who hurled a Pace University student onto subway tracks because the victim tried to stop the man from beating a woman took a plea deal Wednesday in a Manhattan court.
Rayfield Grant, 30, pleaded guilty to attempted assault in exchange for eight years in prison.
He faced as much as 15 years behind bars if he had been convicted of attempted murder — the top charge against him.
The unhinged drifter was beating his girlfriend when he socked Jered Harvey, 20, in the face, grabbed him by the shoulders and threw him on the uptown tracks on the 2 and 3 lines at the Fulton Street station in September 2013.
Harvey escaped unscathed after pulling himself back up, despite Grant trying to block him.
After Grant was busted, he conceded to cops that Harvey was a good Samaritan whose crime was being too "nosy."
