In the nine months since Mayor de Blasio announced his plan to curb traffic deaths, fatalities on the road have gone down 7 percent, according to the NYPD.
The mayor called for the program, dubbed Vision Zero, after taking office in January. It includes everything from more speed cameras to better lighting.
In other city findings, Staten Island Ferry injuries have risen in the past fiscal year — from 24 in 2013 to 32 this year.
And private ferry ridership rose above 10 million for the first time — reaching 10.6 million, a 6 percent jump over the previous year.
