Come for the shopping — stay for the coffee.
A new lifestyle concept store is coming to Williamsburg, complete with a coffee and wine bar to keep customers happy.
Marc Blackwell New York, This Life! is slated to open Aug. 18 with a mission to "bridge the home and being out experience," a spokesperson said.
The 3,000-square-foot store, at 174 N. 11th St., does not have a liquor license yet. As for coffee, it will provide Brooklyn Roasters for sale by the cup and the bean.
The shop will also sell specialty foods, art, tables, linens, personal care items and Blackwell's eponymous line of dinnerware, glassware, linens and lamps.
Blackwell plans to host biweekly lectures and informal talks on art and design over coffee in the morning and wine in the evening.
"The goal is to reach out to the neighborhood and bring the lifestyle to them," the spokesperson said.
Proper West, a new upscale sports bar and restaurant, will open at 54 W. 39th St. next month.
The 5,000 square-foot space seats 120 people and will serve American favorites like hamburgers with sharp white cheddar cheese, apple wood smoked bacon and caramelized onions, along with jumbo lump crab cakes, salmon burgers and New York strip steak grilled on a cast iron skillet.
"We love the vibrant neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan," said Rob Zahn, owner, along with Will Strozier of New Hospitality Group. "Our goal is to be a well-known mainstay for everyone in the area."
Cobble Hill's Atlantic Avenue continues its hipster trajectory.
The latest addition is a new wine and cheese concept that focuses on "hand-selected pairings" of cheese, meat, wine and beer.
Pair Wine and Cheese, at 140 Atlantic Ave., is slated to open by year's end. It will boast a 1,000-square-foot ground floor space and a 500-square-foot outdoor garden.
Owner Chung Park previously operated Cheese+Wine Hoboken. A former Cobble Hill resident, Park was represented in the lease deal by Winick Realty Group's Aaron S. Fishbein.
