He named his daughter after a princess in the video game and now Robin Williams's devoted fans are campaigning for a heartwarming tribute to the star.
A petition on change.org already has more than 36,000 supporters calling for a character in upcoming edition of The Legend of Zelda to be named after Williams.
The comedian and actor has been a big fan of the game since 1987 and was recently hired to promote the franchise with her in a series of ads.
Fans mourning the star of Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting and Aladdin, after his death this week, could think of no better tribute.
"In a day where there aren't many words, what can we do?" the petition's creator, Nick Schaedel of Adelaide, writes.
"Well, there's a new Zelda game on the horizon. A bold reinvention, a fresh new open world adventure for Wii U. I would like to suggest that when the game is localized to English, Nintendo of America and the Treehouse name one of the characters "Robin" in his memory.

The creators of World of Warcraft, another one of Williams' favorite games, have already indicated they will put him in their game, tweeting a message to fans this week.
Blizzard Entertainment's tweet came after fans also campaigned on change.org for an NPC, or non-player character, to be put in the game. This is a character that cannot be controlled by a player and is instead controlled by the computer.
"Because of his presence within our community, we the players of World of Warcraft are asking Blizzard to kindly create an NPC within the game that memorializes the actor/comedian," the petition, which got more than 10,000 supporters, said.
"Many have expressed a wish to this character perform some of Williams best jokes within the Worlds End Tavern, so that he may continue making us smile long after his passing."
Williams has openly spoken of his love of online gaming including games such as Call of Duty, which he discusses on this Reddit thread.
He told the Telegraph in 2011 that gaming was like "cyber cocaine".
"Especially if you're online playing against other people, it's totally addictive, you get lost in the world".
