A ridiculously tiny flat listed for rent in North London has caused a furore and is set to be investigated by the local Council, according to The Guardian.
The "fully furnished" Kings Cross studio was listed for rent online earlier this week for more than $1,234 a month, despite the fact the single bed is practically touching the sink.
It was rented out within 16 hours but photographs of the tiny home, containing a dining table, wardrobe and single bed went viral and the agent was forced to pull the listing after receiving a number of "abusive phone calls," The Independent reports.
Islington Council is now investigating the listing after a councillor said he suspected the flat was created by subdividing an existing studio without permission.
"I don't know if it will fall foul of those minimum standards, but I'm damn sure that, if this is a subdivision without planning permission, then the wheels will turn," he told The Guardian .
However the landlord claimed the flat was perfectly legal and the photos' "didn't do justice" to the space.
