"Duck Dynasty" laid an egg.

Viewership of the hit A&E reality show's fifth-season premiere was down 28 percent from the previous season's.

It was the first new "Dynasty" since comments by family patriarch Phil Robertson were deemed racist and anti-gay — and it drew 8.5 million views, compared with 12 million for the fourth-season kickoff.
