The best and brightest of young Caribbean-Americans were honored Thursday night at the "20 under 40 Awards" in Midtown.

The inaugural event, hosted by Caribbean Life Newspaper and DiasporaDashboard.com, showcased talented entrepreneurs in the local community.

"Young entrepreneurs under the age of 40 are paving their way into making this a great city," said keynote speaker, state Sen. Eric Adams (D-Brooklyn). "Although they are 20 under 40, much of what they do will be for those that are over 40."

Honorees at the event included Brooklyn's Shelley Worrell, founder of the Flatbush Film Festival, and Marc Chin, of New Jersey, global project manager at Google.

"It's great honor to be part of such an elite class," Chin said.

"There's a lot of people they could have chosen, so it's great that they reached out to me," Chin said.
