Libertine goes Brit-punk

The Who:
A mix of editors, and models ventured on up to Lincoln Center for a night showing.

The What:
Johnson Hartig's latest assortment truly captured the rebellious spirit of youth, showing a more playful and eccentric side of punk. Libertine had us falling hard for long-sleeved floral and tie dye peasant dresses, sequin tapestry overcoats and glitter chiffon maxis. And for the men — bold suiting ruled the catwalk, mixed metallics, patches and screen-prints. A variety of embellishments, such as skulls, birds, quirky shapes and typography were found in both collections. The most coveted piece was a silver sequin Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen" graphic pullover sweater. This iconic image was the logo of the season, stamped on the garments with the phrase "God Save the Libertine."

The Highlight:
A handsome (and pantless!) male model strutted down the runway in an epic bedazzled rhinestone jacket.

The Takeaway:
Libertine proved within a sea of serious minimalist collections, fashion can still be expressive and carefree.
