GOLF: Three tied for lead in tight PGA tourney

In Palm Harbor, Fla., Kevin Streelman had a 6-under 65 and was tied for the lead at the Tampa Bay Championship with Justin Leonard (67) and George Coetzee of South Africa (68). Heading into today's final round, 16 players are separated by only three shots. The group one shot out of the lead includes Jim Furyk (67) and Ben Kohles (69).

Defending champion Luke Donald had a 67 and was only two shots behind at 4-under 209, along with 19-year-old Jordan Spieth of Texas.

In Phoenix, Ai Miyazato pulled back in front in the LPGA Founders Cup, with her second straight 5-under 67 after opening with a tournament-record 64. She has a two-stroke lead over Stacy Lewis.

In Newport Beach, Calif., David Frost maintained a one-stroke lead over Fred Couples in the Champions Tour's Toshiba Classic, with a 5-under 66.

ETC.: Bradley wins despite knockdown

In Carson, Calif., Timothy Bradley overcame an early beating and a 12th-round knockdown to win a narrow unanimous decision over Ruslan Provodnikov , defending his WBO welterweight belt in dramatic style.

Bradley (30-0) barely survived a thriller with the unheralded Provodnikov (22-2) in the champion's first bout since beating Manny Pacquiao in a much-debated split decision last June.

In Montreal, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (24-2) manhandled Nick Diaz (27-8-0 with one no contest) for five rounds en route to a lopsided unanimous decision at UFC 158.

Free-agent wide receiver Donte Stallworth was hospitalized with serious burns after the hot air balloon carrying him and two other people crashed into power lines above Homestead, Fla. The 10-year veteran won't suffer permanent damage from the accident, his agent Drew Rosenhaus said.

In Indian Wells, Calif., Juan Martin del Potro defeated top-ranked Novak Djokovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open, handing the Serb his first loss in 21 matches dating to last October. He will play Rafael Nadal in the final. Maria Sharapova and Caroline Wozniacki will play in the women's final.

USC tailback Silas Redd, who transferred from Penn State before last season, has a torn meniscus in his knee and will undergo surgery. He should be completely healthy for training camp in July, coach Lane Kiffin said.
