Brian Kelly, who recently said coaching Notre Dame was his dream job, has interviewed with the Eagles for their head-coaching vacancy, sources said last night.

Kelly, who coached the Fighting Irish to a 12-1 season, was the third college coach Philadelphia interviewed since firing Andy Reid on Dec. 31. The source said the Eagles met with Kelly on Tuesday.

Penn State's Bill O'Brien and Oregon's Chip Kelly interviewed with the Eagles last week, but chose to stay at their schools. The Eagles have interviewed six candidates and plan to meet with four others, including former Bears coach Lovie Smith today.

MOVING ON? Brian Kelly, who coached Notre Dame to the BCS championship game, interviewed Tuesday for the Eagles' head-coaching job.

Kelly, who left the country on vacation, and the Eagles have agreed to revisit talks when he returns this weekend, league sources said.

Kelly, 51, denied having any interest in an NFL coaching job this past Saturday, claiming that leaving Notre Dame "is not an option. I don't even think about it."

COLTS: Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians was discharged from an Indianapolis hospital last night after receiving treatment for an inner-ear infection, ESPN reported.

Arians, who missed Sunday's loss to the Ravens, is expected to interview for NFL head-coaching vacancies. He is tentatively scheduled to meet with the Bears on Sunday. The Chargers also interested in Arians since they hired Tom Telesco, Indy's vice president of football operations, as their new general manager yesterday.

BROWNS: Rob Chudzinski, the Panthers' offensive coordinator, interviewed yesterday for the head-coaching job.

JAGUARS: Dave Caldwell, the new general manager, is unlikely to keep coach Mike Mularkey, according to sources inside and outside the organization, although no final decisions have been made, ESPN.com reported.

SEAHAWKS: Veteran kicker Ryan Longwell and defensive end Patrick Chukwurah were signed to replace Steven Hauschka and Chris Clemons, who were placed on injured reserve.

PACKERS: Jordy Nelson (ankle) and Randall Cobb (flu) should be ready for Saturday night's playoff game against the 49ers despite missing practice yesterday, coach Mike McCarthy said.

SAINTS: Coach Sean Payton signed a five-year contract extension that will run through the 2017 season. Payton had agreed to the deal in principle on Dec. 29.
