"I fell out of my mother's womb with a Nathan's hot dog in my hand, and the screams of the girls on the Cyclone in my ears," says photographer Harold Feinstein. And from the time he was 15, in 1946, Feinstein relished taking pictures of all the weird and wonderful people that populated that home, Coney Island.
Some of his famous photos are collected in a new book, "Harold Feinstein: A Retrospective" (Nazraeli Press). Feinstein also will appear tomorrow at the Aperture Gallery, 547 W. 27th St., to talk about his work and sell posters of some of the images — proceeds from which will go help victims in Coney Island of Hurricane Sandy.

"I was always the guy that rode in the front seat,"
Feinstein says of the Cyclone, where he captured this.

While most of pictures in Feinstein's collection are from this 1950s, this 1990 shot shows that sideshow Coney is forever.
